The one where she’s still

undecided on her next project.  I have narrowed it down (I think) to some Jojoland Melody Superwash I unearthed a while ago from my stash.  Mind you, this is not set in stone, me being the fly by the seat of my pants kind of woman I am.

A few hours later….

OK, I think I’ve decided on the Constanze cowl and I’m going to give it a test drive with Jojoland Melody Superwash.  Here’s a little preview

I think it’s a keeper.  Also, surprisingly (I’ll probably jinx it, now), I’ve only cast on and started it this one time.  Usually, I have a couple of false starts before I settle into a new project.  A nice change, I think.

One more thing – here’s my FO Friday project for this week.  Announcing the Slippery Socks !!

Here’s a side view –

As usual, Josie has to be up in the middle of everything.  She hates to be upstaged!

to pressure and is convinced to model the FO Friday entry.  Supermodels are such divas!

This FO is a skinny mistake rib scarf that I knitted on a road trip to Cleveland, Ohio, with my son, when he had a graduate school audition there.  The name of the school escapes me at the moment, must be a senior moment.  It didn’t work out, but he feels that he is exactly where he needs to be at this point in his life.  We drove there, straight through from Little Rock and I’m here to tell you that that is one long car ride and in March, Cleveland is very, very cold and snowy.  Would I do it again?  In a New York minute.  I wouldn’t trade that time with my baby boy for anything.

Blue’s her color, don’t you think?

No, that’s not a tiny bra, it’s Catnip toes.

The one where Ooh Babies

gets posted.  As promised yesterday, here’s the tweaked Hello Dollies recipe that I’m calling …

Ooh Babies

2 cups crushed vanilla wafers

1/2 cup butter, melted

1 cup flaked coconut (unsweetened)

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup Heath Toffee and Milk Chocolate Bits

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

1.  Preheat oven to 350F.  Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.

2.  In small bowl, combine melted butter and crushed vanilla wafers and press into baking pan.  Layer Toffee Bits, coconut and crushed pecans.  Pour condensed milk over everything.

3.  Bake 20 to 30 minutes, until the coconut is browned.  Cool before cutting into bars.

The one where she notices

that there’ve really been no posts about books and since that’s something I wanted to blog about, I decided to get on the stick and give the latest read some blog time.  Right now, I’m just a few pages into “Henry’s Demons, Living with Schizophrenia, A Father and Son’s Story” by Patrick and Henry Cockburn.  Don’t have an opinion quite yet, but I’m sure I’ll have one in a day or two.  The last book I read was “An Unbearable Lightness” by Portia de Rossi, about her struggle with anorexia and bulemia.  It was difficult to read at times, but I found it by turns depressing, scary, exciting and hopeful.  Good book.

Here’s the necessary blog picture, since I’m told all entries should have a picture

A random picture of Josie.  She’s beautiful isn’t she??
