The one where once again she was ready

for WIP Wednesday a little ahead of time.  Here’s the Constanze cowl so far.

It’s a little more than half done, I hope to have it in next Friday’s FO post.

The one where she’s still

undecided on her next project.  I have narrowed it down (I think) to some Jojoland Melody Superwash I unearthed a while ago from my stash.  Mind you, this is not set in stone, me being the fly by the seat of my pants kind of woman I am.

A few hours later….

OK, I think I’ve decided on the Constanze cowl and I’m going to give it a test drive with Jojoland Melody Superwash.  Here’s a little preview

I think it’s a keeper.  Also, surprisingly (I’ll probably jinx it, now), I’ve only cast on and started it this one time.  Usually, I have a couple of false starts before I settle into a new project.  A nice change, I think.

One more thing – here’s my FO Friday project for this week.  Announcing the Slippery Socks !!

Here’s a side view –

As usual, Josie has to be up in the middle of everything.  She hates to be upstaged!

Knitting

The one where the Papoose

has her first birthday.  That’s right, as of today, Susannah is one year old.  Mr. Iknead and I missed her party because of other family issues, which was hard for us, but sometimes things like that happen.  My father has an appointment in the morning with a radiation oncologist, that’s why we missed the festivities and it’s difficult to have to assign priorities, but sometimes it’s a necessity.  Hopefully, radiation treatment is an option, since surgery is out of the question, but if it isn’t, well I guess we’ll have to suck it up and move on to the next thing regarding his lung cancer.  Trying to stay positive here.

The En Point Pullover continues to move along, but not as quickly as I would like.  I think I have too many projects on the needles at the moment and none of them really get the attention they need to become FOs.  I’ve had my eye on Knitty’s Slippery Socks but have been able to stave off actually starting another project until I get one of my current problems off the needles and into the Legendary Land of the FOs.

I just looked at the clock and it’s past time for me to settle down for the night; I’m having a challenge getting a picture of a project I’m lusting after  posted and my frustration tolerance is at a low ebb.  Maybe I’ll have better luck tomorrow.

Here’s the obligatory blog photo.  She looks very concerned, doesn’t she?

The one where home really is

where the heart is.  It’s where I know all the quirks, which door sticks and which door will never stay closed, where to find the corkscrew even though I don’t drink and knowing exactly how many potato peelings it takes to stop up my disposal.  I can remember every detail, where I was sitting, whether or not the TV was on and what I was snacking on when DD and DSIL called to tell us we were going to be grandparents and what was going on when DS told us he was going to propose to (now) DDIL.  I remember sadder things too, what we were doing when we got word that my DSIL had been in an accident and was in the hospital, the last time that Cheyenne, our sweet weimaraner, climbed down off the couch and what was happening when I noticed that my parents had gotten old.  I’ve been away from home most of the last couple of weeks, but I’m home now and really do feel wrapped up nice and tight, the way I think a newborn feels when it’s swaddled, fed, warm and secure.  I’m happy to be home, can you tell?

For my FO Friday, a less than perfect pic, but here’s the Brittany Jumper in all it’s glory.  I’ll post again when I get a photo of the Papoose wearing it.

The one where the Coupling

socks are the FO Friday offering.

I think they turned out really well and so am again in search of the perfect yarn and perfect sock pattern.

The one where she hopes

this is the last WIP Wednesday for the Coupling Socks.  I might even go for a FO Friday, who knows?

The one where it felt like

her day was never going to end.   I’ve had to be in a meeting for work starting at 9 a.m. yesterday, was there from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. today and have to be back tomorrow a.m. at 7:30.  For someone who has a real problem sitting still for any length of time over about 30 minutes, every minute feels like an hour.  I usually knit to help me focus and not crawl out of my skin but not this time.  My boss understands this and it’s no big deal, but others, not so much.  It’s been a long, long two days.

Coupling socks nearly finished, but not in time for FO Friday.  Dang.

Without a doubt, this is the absolutely worst of the worst of all the pics I’ve ever made but I’m worn out and just don’t feel like retaking it.  So, I apologize.

The one where Josie caves

to pressure and is convinced to model the FO Friday entry.  Supermodels are such divas!

This FO is a skinny mistake rib scarf that I knitted on a road trip to Cleveland, Ohio, with my son, when he had a graduate school audition there.  The name of the school escapes me at the moment, must be a senior moment.  It didn’t work out, but he feels that he is exactly where he needs to be at this point in his life.  We drove there, straight through from Little Rock and I’m here to tell you that that is one long car ride and in March, Cleveland is very, very cold and snowy.  Would I do it again?  In a New York minute.  I wouldn’t trade that time with my baby boy for anything.

The one where her FO

Friday offering is actually ready before FO Friday arrives.  I finished the Catnip Socks on Monday and have been anticipating posting them today.  Take a look, please –

The one where the Celebration

socks are hanging in there.  I pulled a few moves that Harry Houdini would have been proud of, got them back on the needles and in the right position.  So, as of this moment, they’re moving forward again.

The Minnowknits Pinafore Dress is finished and is cute as cute can be.  Photo will be posted tomorrow for FO Friday.  So sweet and I can see Susannah wearing it already!

I have to work tomorrow and so the baking I’m usually doing on Friday has to be postponed a day, but I also have a committment to bake something for the Sunday meeting.  It’s really a birthday meeting since yesterday was D’s birthday, my birthday is tomorrow and R’s birthday is Saturday.  I’m thinking some sort of pie and some sort of cake.
