Fiber and all things fiber related
I knit, I crochet, I sew (clumsily), I spin. I’m hoping to brush up on my quilting skills over the winter, but I’m highly distractable and usually have several projects going at the same time, so this may or may not be accomplished. More about this later. 🧶
Pottery
I promised myself that when I retired, I was going to learn to throw pots using a pottery wheel. When that day came, I said goodbye to my office, turned in my badge and keys, drove straight home and signed up for my first class. Now, I have a pottery studio of my own – OK, I share space with my car in the garage but I have my own pottery wheel and kiln and can be found at any given time, night or day, making a mess and loving it. I also have an Etsy shop, ClayDreamsPottery. The name says it all.🏺
Where it all happens.😀
Family
Married 40 years to the same man, with two grown kids with their corresponding spouses and six grandkids, five girls and then, finally, a boy. On the last headcount we numbered 26 (I think – lots of moving targets). I know there are families that are much, much larger, but for me, an only child who watched friends and neighbors who had large families with envy, this is another dream come true. Our grandkids are the loves of our lives and I love, love, love being the crafty, impulsive, (nearly) fearless, try anything once grandma.
Our grands!
One more thing, something that sets our family apart IMO – My best friend, Cindy, just happens to be my son’s mother in law! Looking at it from another angle, my precious daughter in law’s mother is my closest friend and conspirator 🤫🤫🤫. I love never having to decide who goes where and at what time on holidays. Just one big, (mostly) happy family. ❤️x♾
Dear DIL Katie, Bestie Cindy (Katie’s mom), Me and My DD, Lindsey
Great family, great friends, great play!
Pets
Got ‘em, love ‘em, and never too many is pretty much my attitude here. At the moment, there are only three four footed residents at Casa Coleman, but at one time or another we’ve had upwards of seven or eight or more. Quick biology lesson – Unless you want a gerbil population explosion, under no circumstances should you put gerbils together without being ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, WITHOUT A

Quick biology lesson – Unless you want a gerbil population explosion, under no circumstances should you put gerbils together without being ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT sure of their gender. End of PSA. Oh, and please spay or neuter your pets – it’s better for them and will contribute to your peace of mind. Heartbreakingly too many unwanted pets end up in shelters as it is. Take a walk through your local shelter and you’ll see what I mean. Addendum to PSA concluded.
So this is me. It’s just the tip of the iceberg actually. One of my intentions this year is to update my blog stuff more often so check back every once in a while. You never know what you might find!
