The one where she loses

her car keys, makes an apple pie and finds her keys all in the space of an afternoon.  The pie was a smashing success at the meeting tonight, with the plate pretty much scraped clean.  I knew I had misplaced my keys before I left for the meeting because I had to borrow Mr. Iknead’s to get there.  So, when I got home, I started searching, looked and looked and gave up for the night.  Mr. Iknead came home, asked if I’d found them, and then asked if I’d checked my coat pockets.  He checked and ta da!  There were the sought after keys.  One more reason I love him, finder of lost things.

These youngsters are my kids (minus one who couldn’t make the party), left to right Katie, our DIL, Number one son Jordan, married to Katie and Lindsey, Number one daughter, married to SIL, Clefton.  Blessings all.  The Papoose AKA Susannah was still in utero at time of this picture, I think.

The one where the Eternal

Legwarmers are no longer eternal.  I finished weaving ends in about 30 minutes ago and think they turned out to be really neat.  Like I said in another, earlier post, I love the look of legwarmers, I hope they like me as well.  Take a look

I took another photo that I like better, but I don’t know how to rotate the image.  That’s something I’ll figure out tomorrow.

Besides finishing these, I made sourdough today.  It’s an all day undertaking, not difficult, but requires a lot of time and patience.  I just took the loaves out of the oven, they smell heavenly!  Sourdough toast tomorrow a.m., mmmmmm.

The one where she may be getting

a little weary of the cold weather that’s been blanketing Arkansas the past week or so.  Today, it’s been alternating between sleet and snow since about 8 a.m. or so. Even though it’s really cold, like in the 20s, it’s been nice having my schedule cleared, being able to take my time, piddling around the house and doing some baking.  I made some Sugar Donut Mini Muffins that turned out to be very tasty, just like, duh, sugar donuts.  It’s a keeper I think.  I pulled the recipe from the internet, www.copykat.com, one of my favorite recipe sites.  Quick pic –

The one where she wants

to be anywhere besides where she is, which is at work.  Swear, the clock says 4:44 p.m., but my body says midnight, at least.  All I have to do is hang on for another 45 minutes.

I did manage some legwarmer photos and decided to have the WIP one share the stage with her big sister, the FO.  OMG, am I actually assigning gender to a knitted item?  Now that’s odd, even by my standards.  Here they are

defeat, frogs back the entire Eternal Legwarmer and starts the whole thing over, clean slate and all that.  Here’s what I have so far

Only 15 inches (more or less) to go and it gets on FO Friday, but until then, it’s WIP Wednesday.  Might as well laugh.

The one where she figures out

that the Eternal Legwarmers may indeed be eternal, especially when I looked them over today and saw that at some point last night, I had totally and irrevocably screwed up at least four inches of them and had to frog them back at least that much.  Frogging back cables is next door to crazy but that’s what I did.  So, it’s two steps forward and three steps back.  I tend to be a process knitter more than product driven but come on, this is ridiculous.

The one where she heaves

a huge sigh of relief at being back at home, in her own bed and in her own kitchen.  Visiting the Papoose and family is always a treat, but I’m a homebody at heart and besides that, I miss my dog, Josie.  I don’t think I’ve posted her, so here she is –

in Fayetteville with the Papoose and family.  Butter Brickle Cake got made today, it only took two trips to the store to get everything, but it did get made.

Still warm.

The one where she knows she must

bake something today, even though Mr. Iknead and I are in Fayetteville visiting the Papoose (Susannah to the uninitiated).  This means I must make a trip to the grocery  store because Lindsey and Clefton (dear daughter and son in law) don’t bake, so I need to stock them up on flour, sugar, eggs, etc. etc. so I can make a cake.

Since it’s FO Friday, I’m going to post the very, very first sock I ever made, Cookie A’s Monkey.  Don’t ask me how long it took me, I know it took me about a week to knit the cuff. I’m still proud of them; they say you always remember your first. ; )

My camera skills weren’t very impressive then, thankfully, they’ve gotten a little better, though not much.

The one where she can’t think

of one thing to blog so she finds a random pretty picture to post.

This was taken at a family wedding in St. Louis.  I just wanted to take a picture of the old building, didn’t even think about the backdrop of the sky.  I love the way it turned out.

I wish I could remember the name of the church.  Hopefully someone with a better memory that I have can remember.

The one where she really understands

just how amazing people who have never seen each other in the flesh, have never heard each other’s voices and maybe having nothing in common except a shared love of fiber.  (I know it happens with other people  who share other things, but I have to stick to what I know.)  I’m talking about a post in May, 2010 on Ravelry that started with “I have a pregnancy test in my purse” and ended with the birth of a beautiful baby girl, Paloma, last week.  As the topic picked up steam, more and more Ravelers started following, reading and posting, becoming a huge cheerleading section, obsessively  checking in as D-day got closer and closer.  The outpouring of encouragement, excitement, advice and caring was so phenomenal, so affirmative, I get a lump in my throat just thinking about it.  Thanks Dori for sharing such a personal part of your life with us, thanks fellow Ravelers for again proving how caring we fiber folks are and thanks Rav for being giving us a place to share and care, you’re the best.

And here’s my photo for today – my beautiful granddaughter, Susannah.
